It doesn’t matter if you’re lounging at home (counting down to graduation), or if you’re trying to bide the time at airport gate during a layover–these three stunning iPad games are the perfect apps to get the job done! If you lucky enough to find yourself with an iPad and an uninterrupted hour (not sure which is less likely these days…), give Facebook a rest for a bit and check these out!
1) Osmos HD
This is probably the reason they designed the iPad–for games like this one.
You play the role of a…well, a blob…trying to become a bigger blog, and trying to avoid fusion with other blobs bigger than you. Sounds simple, but that can’t be further from the truth. Graphics are amazing and the challenges are addictive.

2) MetalStorm
If you’ve ever wanted to feel the thrill of a fighter jet dogfight, get this app! Graphics, again, are sweet. Best of all, this is FREE.
As you gain experience levels, you can purchase better cannons, missles and other upgrades. The fighter is controlled by the way you tip and turn the iPad. I wouldn’t recommend extensive play in public areas or onlookers might think you have a real case of vertigo.
3) World of Goo
If Tim Burton made iPad games, they would look like World of Goo. This game challenges you to use tiny goo-balls in tinker-toy fashion to build towers, bridges, etc.
Very challenging and a lot of humor woven in. This may be the most addictive of the three and is the most time consuming, too.
Not sure how two blob-themed games made it to my Top 3–very sophisticated. Enjoy, and post other favorites of yours that I missed!
